Eco Table Decorating Challenge

Where: The Collective Café, Oamaru

When: Exhibitors will decorate their tables on Saturday, 22 November 2025 from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Tables will be on Display through the day on Saturday, 22 November 2025 until 2:30 PM

Entry fee: Free

Judging will take place on Saturday, 22 November 2025.

Registrations close: 14th November 2025

Competition Rules:

The ECO TABLE DECORATING CHALLENGE gives you a wonderful opportunity to showcase your talent, imagination, and creativity. Decorations and settings are to be eco-friendly, waste-free, plastic-free, and reusable. Exhibitors are to display a name and a brief explanation of their celebration. Information must explain how their decorations and settings are waste-free, plastic-free, and reusable. The presentation of this information must fit in well with the decorated table. E.g., in a suitable picture frame.

Entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. There are limited tables available that seat from 2 to 6 people. You may indicate the size you wish to decorate, and these will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so please be aware you may not get the size you request. We will let you know the size we can allocate to you once you register.

Exhibitor must provide all dishes, centre pieces, tablecloths, crockery, glassware, cutlery, and decorations. Chairs will not be included in the display. Decorated tables will be open to the public for viewing.

Decorated tables will be judged according to the following criteria:

  • Adherence to using waste-free, plastic-free, and reusable items.

  • Creativity.

  • Visual impact

  • Originality

  • Overall presentation

Prizes will be awarded for:

  • Most creative entry

  • Best school/ECE entry

  • Best business entry

  • Best individual/family entry

  • Most eco-friendly entry
